One car that is in dire need of an update is the Pigeon.. When was the last time it was even touched?

Glass doesn't shatter, collision sucks, it's overall just bad in it's current state.

Because it's plastic, not glass. It's been said many times before. BeamNG doesn't simulate plastic cracking and breaking very well, hence why it bends instead of splitting or popping out.

Really? I thought the Ibishu Pigeon was glass. No wonder it doesn't shatter, it's literally plastic. I guess I can't fault it for the windows not shattering, but I can fault it for being slow and lethargic. I tested it in a drag race with the T-series at West Coast USA and it did better then the T-series but a lot of cars could beat the T-series in a drag race, so that's isn't saying much. I do like the T-series, but it is very slow, so no doubt about that.

By the way, the Pigeon as far as I can tell had had no changes to it since I got Beamng.Drive back in the summer of 2018. The Pigeon does need an update quite soon I think.

It's not supposed to be fast. It's a useless little dockyard truck. It's already faster than it really should be (658cc engine when 550cc was the highest allowed in its class)

No, to me the pigeon is detailed rather well. I think the legran needs the update the most. I mean, look at the engine bay and compare that to one of the pessimas, or the new grand marshal?

It's the main reason I don't use the legran, it doesn't seem like it is a dev made car, more like a user made car. Hell, some user made cars are more detailed than the legran in its current state.

The radiator is just floating there, there's no lines, no wires or anything that resembles a true engine bay. It looks like someone installed an engine but forgot to wire it, hook everything up. The battery in the legran is just a black box with red and black posts on it. Compare that to the grand marshal, it looks proper, how it should look.

Ibishu Pigeon just needs a parking enforcing config and its all good. Plastic windshield seems correct for such a cheap and light vehicle.

Even if the windows of the Pigeon are plastic, having them just stay perfectly in the window frame all the time no matter what looks weird, especially with the way Beam handles window textures and whatnot. I think it should maybe just disappear if it's tampered with too much to prevent the weird bending that it currently has.

This picture here is why the Pigeon needs an update. Its interior looks like a BeamNG car from 2014 on lowest settings.

I think everyone is reading too far into this post.

I interpreted it as basically stating everything that's being worked on is a proof-of-concept and doesn't fit into a vehicle that is currently being worked on. The GM is just being used to test these new features.

Don't snuff my hope of an i5 10 speed DCT all wheel drive GM man. I got my hopes up for that.

Let me explain the "automatic 4WD" transmission thing briefly.
In the D-Series for example you select 2WD/4WD by using the shaft disconnect. The main drawback is that when in 4WD the front axle and the rear axle bind together, causing driveline windup on tarmac. The automatic 4WD replace the selector lever to a computer-controlled clutch, which can partially engage so it can transfer torque to the front wheel without bind the axles. If the computer is tuned to only engage the clutch during wheelspin then this is a part-time AWD, if the computer is tuned to always partially engage the clutch then this is a full-time AWD.

Unfortunatly, modern Audi Q5/Q7/RS3/RS5 has open front and rear differntials, which hurts cornering performance.

The car is cheaply made, it's based on the reliant robin. Its made to be that way with the dashboard cut off in order to save cost to make that car. I wouldn't even call that a dashboard, more like an instrument panel.

It makes sense too, as you'll be spending all of the money on fixing dents and dings when the corners of the car smash into the ground. It's not meant to be a pretty car, it's a bare-bones car you can pick up for under 5k, to get you from point a to point b. It might not be the safest, but its better than walking, or taking the bus.

But I do see what you mean. There are HVAC controls, but the blower motor isn't there, and there's obviously no vents

And I've playing beam since 2013, cars looked and drove perfectly fine back then except for the bolide.

Okay, You actually make a very good point about the Pigeon. I wasn't expecting it to be nearly as fast as a race car and It can be fun to drive around sometimes. You also make a good statement about it just a little dockyard truck. The vehicle doesn't even have 4 wheels for goodness sake. I just think the Ibishu Pigeon has some issues and needs an update.

The pigeon's larger motor really needs to be renamed to motorbike swap or something, having such a big factory motor doesn't make sense. Then we could call it "street tuned" and put that unused flame skin to use.

Also, security varient is needed. Either a campus security vehicle for one of the test centers/motorsport parks or a traffic enforcement car for Belasco PD. NYPD currently has two three-wheeler models in service: The Cushman Truckster and Wentward Westward Go-4 Interceptor (they also have a 3 wheeled motor-scooter).

The issue that comes to mind is the texture quality on the doors and such.

With D-series getting coil overs for its independent front suspension, hopefully the solid front axle also gets coil springs as an option. Leafs are really starting to get irritating on that truck with how little flex they provide.
