thanks to sealedgecko, we've discovered a way to take beamng's multiseat feature to the next level!

there's an app called Parsec. sign up, confirm your email address, and add your friends on it.

this video should cover all the basics with the program and joining and hosting a game:

it's best to be familiar with all the basics with beamng multi seat before starting up parsec. you can do this by spawning 2 vehicles, having one be controlled via the keyboard, the other via controller. get familiar with using an external camera high above, because you cant have multiple cameras following multiple vehicles. you could also use a very zoomed out orbit cam, although this is not recommended.

there should be a multiseat app in the ingame app menu. this should allow you to choose which player/controller drives what.

i've been told by stenyak that the multiseat limit is 16 players, it should be more than enough to have your own events! this is of course entirely dependent on the host computer being able to handle that many trucks at the same time. in testing i managed to have 5 other friends connected and we did some great racing and bashing!

known bugs: multiseat in general is still very much WIP i feel. so expect small problems like 5 people controlling one vehicle at once (new challenge?) or random gear changes. this should be less of an issue if you actually use the multiseat app to assign people to vehicles (unlike me the first time i used parsec :p...)
there's also an arbitrary limit of 4 xbox controllers allowed to connect to one pc at a time if you use the standard xinput method. using directinput allows you to bypass this limit, although i'm not sure how to enable that in this sort of use case. so you might find yourself a case of 4 or 5 people connecting (4 xbox controllers, one keyboard), but no additional players can drive despite them being able to view the game just fine.

here you can see me and @Flukes Horsey Guy experimenting with parsec just to show the possibilities:

i will update this post as i find out more about parsec and beamng multiseat to help mitigate some of the problems.

do both players only see through one perspective? And only one person controls everyone's view?

how you see the video is how we saw the game. when you watch the video everything you see is exactly how we saw it while we where playing.
