    I don't really see any.

    The Lark was actually designed based on Virgil Exner's Plymouth Valiant, not a Japanese car. If I remember correctly Virgil showed the concept of the Valiant for 5 minutes to one of the designers at Studebaker and they tried to copy it, but failed. (Pretty sure this is a true story)

    No not really, I'm pretty sure the Lark was designed before the Valiant and was released sooner. The Lark came out in '59 while the Valiant came out a year later.

    The Valiant was designed in '59 and released in late 1959/1960 (as the Q series)

    Anyway, here's some evidence to back my claim

    Frankly the Lark is the better-looking car anyway. That Valiant has to be one of the ugliest machines ever to defile the road, and that's saying something in a world where the Mk. IV Prius exists.
