I can't find where do you change that 5-8000 value or 0.0003, all I see is fogscale color, can you help with this please?
Sure, its not in sky settings, thats in theLevelinfo. Also fogscale color exists in theLevelinfo but is overwritten by fogscale color in Sky settings. My take on it isnt quite the same now, its very map depending. If i want a very blue sky i dont raise the fog level to 5-8000, its more of something like 1500 instead. IF i use fog to give the sky a light blue color and fade i usually use 15-25000 (to make sure i dont get a visual border between the sky and the fog) now, along with a value of 0.0001 (which will look weird in the value field but its what i use). Also i set fade distance to 8, so that the close surroundings of the car isnt effected by the fog.
Serious question: IS THE LATEST (maybe all?) VERSION VERY DARK? My monitor flips between two 'modes' every now and then when i go to/from windowed mode. One makes the screen abit pale, one makes the screen darker and has more contrast. Hard to tell which one is correct..
Text just copied from the vid Well about done with the latest pure Beamng engine gfx mod (meaning no Reshade, all available in the Beamng game engine) containing; full res SSAO, Tonemapping, fixed bloom, custom multiple lens-lens flares, a bunch of other PFX stuff changed/fixed and so on. The sky/brightness settings for the maps are also custom as per usual. A vid is more fun than screenshots and heres a short ride on ECUSA from the house, to the docks where a diesel trailer is picked up, and finally arriving at the saw mill. Very story-like, feel the vibes. My computer specs are really mid/low; i5 2500K @ alittle more than stock, 8gb ram, 1050 TI OC, SSD HDD.
None afaik What sound were you thinking of? I did fake using a exhaust brake here and there by giving it alittle throttle while braking and i also might have used the Ctrl+F9 debug menu some days ago but that shouldnt have stuck after restarting BeamNG
Well heres the latest beta, will most guaranteed change this but im really happy with it atm. Its more or less as in the vid a few posts up but ive adjusted the far settings for the SSAO. Contains the usual such as tonemapping, fixed bloom, lensflares galore, high res SSAO, and so on. Tracks are ECUSA and Hirochi but ive also added the Automation test track, not sure what settings i run for that map right now but i think theyre not that bad Also using a test version of auto focus DOF. Really could do with some more work to get better but i dove into the codes of it trying to make its focus area larger and i didnt understand squat lol. As far as looks goes ive taken away alittle of the colourfulness of it as you might have seen in the last vid, its all nice and cozy with it but not as 'realistic' as i want it and compared to other games looks. Installation as per usual: Installation instructions: 1. Extract the ALbeta.zip into your 'This PC\Documents\Beamng.drive' folder 2. Clear cache by deleting the cache folder(s) found in your 'This PC\Documents\Beamng.drive' folder OR use Clear Cache in the game loader 3. Start BeamNG 4. Open your PostFx window (the button at the bottom of the Graphics settings, in Options, if its not there you need to enable Advanced Functions) and load the preset which is in the 'This PC\Documents\Beamng.drive' folder, the preset is named AL.postfxpreset And that should do it!
hello, i know i may sound dumb but how do you enable the advanced functions because i cant seem to find it, can anyone please tell me where to find it and send a screenshot, thanks
Here you go man --- Post updated --- Testing slightly different bloom and dof settings to give it a tastier look.
Hi, really pleased that you sent me a screenshot of what you were doing so i can use the shaders, much love to you, when i was looking at the shaders in my personal taste is more bloom and shadows, here are some pics of what i have and just double check that im using the shaders not just the original
That looks right, it think.. Atleast the high quality SSAO looks like its working. Ill try and make that vid that youve asked for, jsut takes more time than i have atm. The levels id recommend using with my mod is ECUSA and Hirochi due to those have adjusted sky and light settings
thanks for the reply! I tried to download ECUSA but this happened I would also like to know if i even have the latest version because i remember reading one of your shader things and you said the most recent would be in the comments or something, because i just downloaded the first one i saw, like at the top not from the comments
ECUSA (East Coast USA) is one of the vanilla maps so you should already have it The files i use mainly only modifies existing files. The latest version is on this page (page 9), heres the link to that post: https://beamng.com/threads/graphics-mod-alternative-lighting.60343/page-9#post-1074785
Thanks for the latest post and thanks for letting me know the abbreviation --- Post updated --- Also, if you want i can make a video on how to install so you dont have to spend your time doing that, your choice
Hi, i've never attempted to use something like this. I've installed the ALBeta, do I still need to install the map files on the first page?
Id appreciate that very much No, everything is in the ALBeta zipfile. Ill try and maje that clear on the first page Yes it will. One way to keep fps up though is that if you use dynamic reflection you can shorten the distance and update rate for that, makes a hella difference
Hello, i have now uploaded the video, hope you like it, spent 2 hours straight editing and was determined to get it done today! here is the link :
