When you say 'texture work' what do you mean? Aren't you going to keep the valve textures for most of the car, or at most make them slightly different? Do you mean the textures for your custom parts? And at what point in development do you plan to release early versions of it for us to try?
With 'texture work' I mean basically opening a image file to edit it. New parts need Valve style textures and Valve textures need to be remade in higher quality. I don't know, i think it must be drivable first
The "higher quality" valve textures sound great but can you leave a version that uses the original textures (and your own for the new parts) just for nostalgia? Or will the change not be that noticeable? Also how are you going to make them higher quality?
I'd suggest making the car fairly weak seeing how most of the original chassis is missing or replaced with random bits of scrap metal.
Awesome work on the new update. At 2:43 in the video, after you crash, the car gets really jiggly. Is this something that you plan on fixing, or is it just something will always happen because of the car's unusual structure?
@Sopze What UI are you using at the bottom to show engine revs, speed and steering and stuff in the middle of your video if its a mod care to link it to me?
The body part in that video is using a very basic jbeam cos I had to remake it and by that moment it had just "placeholder" values for all jbeam parameters. Rigth now it behaves a lot better It's a custom basic app I made back in 0.13, It's called 'Basic Modules' in-game, attached
Ahh thanks I was wondering about that, I might have to use it to reduce the UI load on the game for me
Damn! The September 17 update video looks amazing. Great work. Also, I'm very sorry to hear that you are not "in your best days." I hope it gets better for you, and if you need to talk, you can always DM me. Anyway, I love the radar, and I love the effect when it breaks and goes all glitchy. It is a great touch. Same with the moving engine parts. Good luck on the rest of the mod!
So you're gonna wanna leave the car and initiate an accelerated backwards B-hop towards the ramp surface in front of you...
Oh! You know what this needs?? Remember the stig/crash dummy? Slap Gordon Freeman's character model onto that and put him in this car! That would be amazing! We will be detecting quite a few minor lacerations and then administering morphine if we add that.
At this moment i'm working on the development of my own game, and sadly my team is just me so I spend most of my time on that. I still working on the car on my spare time... I'm just not updating the thread because the current work on it is basically the tedious work of getting the car stable and enhance the handling, behaviour and deformations before add the final parts, so I don't feel like the thread needs any update as there are no big changes. Long story short: Mod is progressing slowly due to lack of time.
