It's using more textures, more flexbodies and more nodes and beams than official cars. It can't be updated and modified deeply like something i would be paid for, sorry. It's for high end PC only. Thanks to devs awesome work, it's getting way more fps now than it used to three years ago. Also i do have updated things on it, they are less flexbodies than it used to have. But still more intensive than official cars that have one texture map for the whole body and chassis for exemple. My cars have several textures because variants interacts with each other : same front end and front doors, different rear doors, bodies, and so on ... This was begun has a few hours fun and expended to something a bit crazy
Not to sure what happened, but I had to reinstall. When I tried to load the four door, windows lost it's mind and blue screened. Works fine now but most random issue I think I've ever encountered.
This is not random, your mod installation is missing the main file which is in the repository (button on top of page). Without the main file, the mod is uncomplete.
All Impala’s had silver/argent painted grills with low gloss. Caprices had chrome bars around the checkerboard pattern of the grill and at the very top horizontal bar but the inner parts of the checkboard were painted silver as well like the impala. As far as the gauges and dash 1980-1984 caprice and impala were the same except for the optional gauge package, some additional or less woodgrain and the caprice classic or impala badge on the passenger side dashboard. 1985-90 caprices were updated with the gauges and dash currently used on the mod. The 80-84 gauges looked like this. Safe to say just call your impala mod a 1985 which was the last year for it for the sedan. The impala wagons were discontinued in 1982.
Ah good to know for the wagons, i have to rename a few presets then But i don't have those older gauges, i could make them of course but eventually i would like to get rid of this mod, because details are neverending Maybe later, for a "details" update lol.
Looks like Carface80 has the 1980 variant for the Grill, Impala emblems and Impala wheel covers, looks like he even did the interior. If we could get Carface80 to convert his 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88, and his 1983 Dodge Diplomat to beamng.....
Yeah, thank you. I'll see if i go that far in the Impala integration as i just did it for you all to get a car looking like the Impala from the exterior and extend the car chase fun. I love details but this is really neverending if everything making a new variant and year's specifics need to be added. The Delta 88 had no Royale trim available for 3 years, it's now done but now i'd like to release the V2.0 and go on other projects. Consider the few impala details as a bonus, i've only added 4 or 5 presets with Impala components. Maybe i'll add that stuff later. Impala emblems were added already though.
Awesome! No, was just some stuff I found. I know the countless hours you have already put into the mod, and we all love what you did. I'm just happy to see an Impala even if the small details aren't spot on, and same with the Delta 88, 98, and the newly added 2dr Delta 88 and Holiday 88. And yes there are so many variants and year to year changes it would take years to complete. Thank you for all that you do.
Thanks for your kind words and understanding. Easy part would be adding the steering wheel and hubcaps. The version of the Impala i have came with the Caprice steering wheel. But if it uses a specific interior texture then i'll have to isolate the part dedicated to the steering wheel to make a new small one, and then decline it to the 6 interior colors the mod has. And so just of another steering wheel 2 or 3 hours are gone. All of this is heavily time consuming.
Could you try doing the 1985 Ford LTD that the banned Brown_Diplomat made? It would be a nice addition!
Nope, i'm more on doing my own stuff with friends rather than adapt other people models, sorry. Carface's Caprice was a guest mod into my pack because it made sense to include it : they share the same chassis, and i needed a body for my Wagon. It was useless for a free mod to spend dozen of hours remaking it myself. Even if i would like to see other brands fullsize cars in the game, it's a lot of work making the proper jbeam, engine specs, behaviour, and so on.
You could make it a bit different u know, like add liveries and stuff like that. Edit: No need to rush, ok?
I never rush on modding, as i have other real priorities in life. I won't do this Ford LTD, it's not a question of rushing, it's a question of choice and free time. What about making it yourself if you'd like to see such content in game ?
I have 100% no experience in modelling and coding, and I live in Singapore, where such classes are very rare and costly. Still, have fun with your next update, the Impala!
All i can say that we really need to appreciate modders like SergentFido. The fact that he keeps the mod updated and keeps adding stuff to this day is amazing. Think of all the awesome mods, that is sadly broken nowadays. Thank you SergentFido!
