Hi there! I recently decided to take on the challenge of learning Blender to create a BeamNG mod. Now, I have an unhealthy obsession with boxy 80s cars and I think the 240/740 series reflects that style perfectly. I started with the basic model of the body about a week or two ago and so far I have this: Progress: Body: 55% Jbeam: 0% Textures: 0% I'm messing around with some more modern headlight designs but I think I'll just stick with factory for the mod. Also, for now I'm only going to be making the wagon as there already is a 242 Sedan Turbo mod. Please keep in mind that this is my first model in Blender so keep expectations for quality semi low although I will try my best. As for things like designing the entire suspension system and interior, I have no clue how to do. Also any tips/advice on how to even import a car/JBeaming it would also greatly be appreciated. I've briefly checked the Introduction to Vehicle Creation but it just looks like mumbo jumbo to me. I'll have to go back to it later. Thanks for checking out my project. It's summer for me so updates should occur every 3 weeks or so(no promises). Again, please keep expectations low and any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks
Pretty good for your first model i must say, though there needs to be more work around the grille and wheel arches
Thanks! --- Post updated --- Thanks! But yeah I agree. This so far is just a low poly(somewhat)render of the body. Some further tweaking will definitely go into it.
Actually looks pretty nice, and the polycount isn't horrendous like most other first time models (or stolen models), where they overdo it and it makes the game lag/the car not deform as it should. keep up the good work.
nice work so far! if you are planning on a lore friendly rebadge maybe user the jarlg brand? atomix made a swedish car named jarlg also love the the 240!
Maybe I will make a hearse config to. --- Post updated --- I can model things like the interior and things like that but I am not so good with the jbeams. I will try and help anyway I can. After all the Volvo 240 estate is my favorite car in the world.
