So I tried playing World of Tanks for the first time in maybe 9 months. Community is worse, game itself is worse, performance is worse, and tanks are less and less historical... So that was a failed experiment. It honestly makes me rather sad, I use to love this game. I like shooting games but don't play many and I am facinated by the engineering and history of real tanks, but the community is toxic, my friends stopped playing, and the game itself kinda sucks... I still have the itch to play, but even as I am playing and trying to enjoy it, it just isn't working out... I would be much more satisfied just by building a plastic model kit of a Sherman... Well, on to Just Cause 2 I guess...
I can't imagine that you will be any more impressed with the historical accuracy there xD Its a lot of fun though...
TBH the fact that it is a parody of the US invasion of Panama makes it more historical than all but one of the Chinese tank destroyers they added...
I have before (AW too), I like watching WT video's but I'm not really up for another steep learning curve multiplayer game run by a company just as questionable as WG. I'm not really into multiplayer games; WoT was an exception for some reason.
*sigh* so i swapped my room fan over, used to be a 1950's 10in GE Standard fan, I dim yes, dim, the fan (slow it down using dimmer switch) to get it nice and quiet, but now it's decided to rattle like hell for no apparent reason (has done this before, wait a week and it'll be fine next time i plug it in i bet).. So i am now using my Xpelair Taurus T12, these things are grumbly old things, and it's annoying since the motor noise gets through my headset, and also i'm not used to the motor noise so much at the moment, which annoys me.. I know the fan isn't actually that loud, just my mind is playing tricks on me...
So a coworker of mine was like "You should go to a nightclub just to get the experience!" so I was like "ok, maybe I'll get to talk to some interesting people or make a friend or two." This was my first time ever going to one. All there was to do was smoke hookahs and drink alcoholic beverages. There was also live rap music, but it was so loud you had to basically shout into anyone's ear so they could hear you. Needless to say, I'm not someone who drinks, smokes, or dances, so I didn't really have much to do other than sit around and try to enjoy the music, but rap music isn't really my thing. Maybe it was because I went alone, but somehow I have a feeling even if I did go with a few other people, (I don't have many friends though) I still wouldn't enjoy it.
dimmer works alright with shaded pole motors, not so with modern psc motors, they hum quite badly and don't like it (draw same/more power than at full speed, so the motor will simply overheat..) Something is quite badly resonating in the fan, but the rear case of it is quite badly beaten up with lots of hairline fractures, if i take it apart it's likely it could crumble.. Bearings are free (thank god since i don't want to take it apart ).. Also tried rudamentally balancing the blades by simply bending them until they are sort of aligned, not optimal but it helps a bit, oddly enough it feels like as its now more balanced, it rattles more, i think when the fan was shaking quite a bit it kept everything sort of tight so nothing really rattled.. but now that it's quite smooth, thus any vibration is higher frequency, it can cause rattles... Also oiled my T12 fan, that runs really quiet now.. My T12 was fished out of a skip at my dad and granddad's work, there were two fans, both were wet in fairness.. one started and the other did nothing at all... I haven't touched the other one for approx 7-8yrs, it might just be a fuse thinking about it tbh.. (ik there should have been something to set the fuse off, but it's not unheard of for the hot/cold cycles to just wear the fuse out..) If not then it's probably a relatively simple fix tbh, capacitor or just a wiring issue, and i can sort that out..
Guess who got his first on the job injury. Got a big gash on my face now. I need a real job... Edit: Just took a good look at my face. The cut is in the shape of my glasses, which is kinda funny. I suppose it makes sense, being that my gasses were inbetween my face and the wood board that hit me. Not sure how I would feel about a scar in the shape of my glasses though.
You think that's rough, try punching yourself in the face with a 40 pound laser printer like I just did. Or dropping a pallet on your foot. Or falling out of a forklift. Or off a ladder. Or shooting a staple out of an industrial staple gun onto your hand. Perhaps I'm accident prone. I need to stop working construction and warehouse jobs, too bad they pay well.
I've learned not to question most things he says, but falling out of a forklift was the more interesting one to me.
Long story short: we had a small compressor room at my old job. I did cabinet making, and was putting up some left over inventory just in case we needed it. Well, as I was backing the forklift out I didn't have the mast down far enough and I hit the frame for the little garage door we have separating the room from the main shop. I hit it with the forklift which lifted the back end up. When it slammed back down I was bounced out of the seat. Always wear your seat belt, kids Well, I was trying to get a big HP LaserJet down from a shelf in our warehouse. I didn't expect it to weigh as much as it did because I couldn't see the little warning on the box. So it slipped and I wasn't ready and the box punched me in the face. OSHA approved, I say.
