Have you cleared cache? Do you have a file named finalpasscombinedp.hlsl in C:\Users\-Username-\Documents\BeamNG.drive\shaders\common\postFx\hdr ? Realized i might have said that to just have the Tonemapping you should keep the core folder, you should keep the shaders folder. --- Post updated --- Please try, i dont know what would be the cause otherwise. Youre making me nervous to do a fresh install myself, might have altered a file i cant remember but i dont think so. Have you loaded the preset too? --- Post updated --- Not sure if it can have to do with writing rights for Beamng/Steam. HAS ANYONE BUT ME GOT THIS TO WORK? If so, please tell me cause i might be the onlyone and then ill have to do some digging.. --- Post updated --- Kind of takes away the fun of posting the ingame vids but here they are..
Clearing cache got the rest of it working, I forgot that might be a key step for getting this to work... @Brother_Dave You might want to state in the OP that clearing the game cache is a required step...
i followed all the instructions just to have my hdr option missing Edit:never mind, i forgot the hdr setting was removed in later updates.
Done some slight work on the tonemap, it now adds bloom before tonemapping, so that it is calculated as a component instead of acting as an overlay. Slight improvement, less dark when using high tonemap contrast and so on.
got the tone map working, you actually put finalpasscombinedp.hlsl in the beamng drive steam directory
Not sure what you mean? Are you not using Steam, cause i could see that as an issue but the very intention is to put it in the Documents\Bemang.drive directory that is created by Steam. BeamNG reads that folder on top of the actual game files so any file that is in that folder will be used instead of the original game file. That way i dont mess with the actual game files and its easy to keep track of.
Ok, then all you shouldve needed to do was to extract the zip files into the folder mentioned and maybe cleared cache. Are you using a custom steam game directory, not Documents/Bemng.drive?
I think SSAO is a bit overdone, that's visible in shadows. And im too afraid to turn on MXAO or RT, I think I won't see interior at all, lel
Yes, that looks much more heavy than intended! I usually go through most scenarios when adjusting the settings and wouldnt have wanted that look. I have a version on the go that is lighter or rather 'smarter' overall so youll probably like that better. What ive realized is the monitors we are all using have so many different settings and that gives different results ofcourse. I use a good brand 32inch led tv (with different enhancements off) as my monitor but then i change to other monitors and it all looks darker, less saturated and so on so i might need to count that in or release two versions each time.
Another pack released but it will now as part of my Alternative Lighting mod, here: https://beamng.com/threads/beamng-alternative-lighting.60343/page-7#post-1033107
