I have tried it, and I am using it at the time of writing this post. I really like how Microsoft is attempting this
project. I especially like how it is chromium-based. It is snappy, easy-to-use, simple- no extra things to slow down the cpu, or hog memory (Google Chrome). In general, I think the future is looking hopeful for the NEW Microsoft Edge. What do you think of it? Any improvements you think Microsoft should add, any features, etc?
Of course, it is a WIP, but still...
    Here is the download:

FYI, as of 4/9/2019, it is only available for WIndows 10.

All Edge has done for me is open for a few seconds before closing itself.

Err, it's memory usage is near identical to chrome... Funny that when it's chrome based

Otherwise yeah I tried it. It's basically reskinned chrome and that's really not a bad thing

Hm... when I opened edge and chrome one after another, edge used less ram (could just be me) it was about 2-4 Gb less. odd though

Because it does the same as old edge and IE, where the browser sub processes don't have the same name and so task manager doesn't show them correctly, they are shown in the details tab though.

The bit of chrome that uses all that ram is the layout engine, which is also now in edge

All modern browsers seem to lack in leaking prevention department compared to older browsers, you can't quite get all the addons or at least not quite as well working to new ones.

For example so called safety features keep pinging to servers of Google and alike.

Personally I think that all modern browsers are pretty similar. I would still recommend Firefox as it is one of the few mainstream browsers that does not sell your data to the highest bidder.

Impressive, really impressive, i dived straight for the canary.. i thought it'd just be a reskinned chrome, but there are a few tweaks that make it good, scroll perf is good, much better than chrome still (chrome still is bad for scroll perf esp on atom tablets and low end pcs whereas edge can hold 60fps nicely) Hopefully touch is good also, i can't test it though as i don't have a windows tablet anymore..

Not too sure if i can be bothered to switch from chrome :p

Now i think the only arguments for using chrome over edge are these:
    Google integration
    'can't be bothered to change'

Performance imo is slightly better on edge..
