In Wikipedia there are two diesels mentioned:LD20 (2.0 liter) and LD28 engines (2.8 liter) but since my knowledge are limited about Skyline engines, I can't say anything more, it's your mod anyway.
Thanks, been doing it off and on for years Im using 3DS Max 2013, legit version. Might have spent my early days on crappy cracked ones, also tried Blender but didnt quite like it but now im lucky enough to have access to that legit version The panel gaps are usually made by first making a sharp edge, for panel gaps its usually 90 degrees. Then i select all the edges/lines on the edge and chamfer it, that splits the edge in to at a set distance to eachother. Easy as pie! Corners abit tricky though, say pa panel goes horisontal and then vertical, i usually chamfer them separatly and then sort the corner vertice per vertice Btw, see attached pic to see the edges im talking about. Thought we were talking R31, the R30 seems to have had both the LD20 and LD28 as you say, i wouldve assumed it had the RD too but apparently not
Well, im used to 3ds max so 100 times id say BUT its probably completely up to the user. The technique im using is more or less this: Although i used Editable Mesh instead of Editable Poly (at 0:29, you can just hit the model itself, right-click and choose Convert To: Editable Mesh) and i dont start with a tube, i instead use a plane and usually start on the front fender towards the door, and work my way forward towards the front of the car. At 2:44 you can see him select a edge (you can select multiple, very handy when making larger panels) and extrude it by just holding Shift and move it. Then you go to Vertice level and adjust them individually if needed. Thats basicly how i build my whole models --- Post updated --- More detail into the engine bay
Another small update, added a few little things, changed the overall size of the engine and a couple of other things --- Post updated --- Added a shot of the whole thing, for da good feelin'
Your work is genuinely impressive I expected great things from you, but still you managed to exceed my expectations
Just get a educational version of 3DSMax18 for free legally --- Post updated --- https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/3ds-max Just enter random school data ,they dont check and you have legal 2 yr license for Max18 --- Post updated --- Vray works and plugins too
