issues with DirectX

I have dirextx 11 and cant run the game?

 

What are your computer specs? Because your PC might not be powerful enough to run it.

 

Having the DirectX libraries installed isn't enough.

The display adapter must also support DX10+ (soon DX11+) functionalities.

 

what GPU do you have exacly?

Yeah your laptop definitely won't be able to run BeamNG. It's used for business, not gaming, hence why Beam doesn't open.

 

Played BeamNG since 2014, loved the game.

Did the update today and the stupid thing now says it cannot run on my laptop..... It's the same one I've used to play the game for the past 5 bloody years!

Came up with the DirectX thing, saying it's now incompatible.

The game has always worked perfectly on my laptop, sometimes a little laggy on large maps and when more than 3 cars are spawned but it does the job.

I want a refund and won't bother buying a new laptop if this is the case. I feel as if the BeamNG.Drive team don't care about the people with older systems and want to aim for people with 3 grand gaming PC's which is also a small community.

 

directx10 has been deprecated as of hotfix 3,for 0.15

That's a bad thing as most people who want to and have in the past enjoyed the game don't have a stupid amount of money to spend on a new pc

 

well i know its sad, but its now time to upgrade from your 10year old potato, we are in 2019, everything will stop suporting DX10.

Look at the Devblog for DX10 deprecation. Read it. They’ve been trying to keep it going for a while now, but things have to change for new and better things to come.

 

I'll be selling the game as a steam gift I think now. Gutted as it was my favourite PC game but I'm not paying £300 - £400 + for a gaming PC to run it that'll be no use in a few years time because they'll do something to the game that will result in me having to upgrade it.

 

Let me put it this way.
If you have an iPhone 4s as your old PC and an iPhone XR as your new PC.
The iPhone 4s will stop getting software updates because of how outdated it is. However the iPhone XR would continue to get updates until it gets the same fate as the iPhone 4s.
It isn't the dev's fault because you have old outdated systems. It's time to upgrade.

 

I have been playing the game 3 years and now it's all been taken away from me and many others who enjoy the game as I think that now part of the beamng community has been thought of as unimportant and unneeded . All those hours of happiness taken away just like that for so many people - rejected just like that...

 

Like I said you are not being rejected. You are overreacting. It's like a phone, you gotta get a new one someday.

...Do you realize how difficult developments for this game is? Do you remember when Win7 was released? I haven’t seen any other complaints or threads about the change. At the end of the day, Win7 was already outdated a while back, and DX10 has been for a while too. If the devs were like what you may think, those three years would be one year...

Ok? And your point is? If you can’t upgrade, then that’s your fault for not having the money for a new PC, not the developers.

 

It's the delevopers fault for not catering to everyone.

Everything has a date when it can no longer be used pretty much, but actually paying for a game for it not to work? I could understand it if they weren't updating it anymore but making it so it literally won't work? That's just ridiculous.
