BeamNG stops rendering when you minimize it but if you cover it up it still renders in the background

but it wastes resources, other games stop rendering when not in the foreground.

Nobody else has that issue because you are the one that doesn't want to close the game.

Nearly no game stops rendering when in background. That's why people dont usually have more than a single game running at a time.

Apart from those rich kids who have a watercooled dual CPU rig with a million GB of RAM and 4 SLI'd Titan X GPUs..

ok, but its just a suggestion, since i cant remember the last time i actually pressed minimize not for BeamNG, fair enough minimizing is a compromise but i dont think it takes that much coding to make it stop rendering in the background, or stop rendering when there is no input when the physics are paused

It depends. Sometimes the engine cannot exactly tell when the game is minimized or not. If you run the game windowed i think that its really hard to code for the game to KNOW when its minimized. On the other hand, if they can code this, it will mean that a small amount of extra precious RAM and CPU power will be going to calculate each second if the game is running on the foreground or background.
