Wow, I've had a lightbulb in my desk lamp explode, really messed up stuff, I had to strain my coffee to get all the shards out of it, as for the lamp, I had to get it replaced

Seriously though, it went out with such a bright white flash, you could see my room just light up from my hallway.

I thought I had a stroke, like all "come to the light" type of stuff.

What type of light bulb was it? Because some are really dangerous like a CFL which contain mercury and if broken can lead to mercury poisoning. But if it was a standard incandescent then you should be fine.
